Many South Floridians have often dreamt about ditching their 9 to 5 job and going out on their own with a great new product, or idea, but stopped short out of fear of failure.
But one Ft. Lauderdale woman took a chance and has had a dream come true.
"I went for a dream," said Amber Schaub, owner of "Ruffle Butts", "I think so many of us have a dream that we really want to for, but don't have that push that we need. I'm very fortunate to be here."
In less than 6 months, Schaub says her "ruffle butt" line has exploded.
"Some days it's so overwhelming and I think "Oh my gosh, what did I get myself into, I had no idea', said Schaub, "and on other days I count my blessings that I'm fortunate enough to be here doing this."
Schaub said she left a very lucrative career in real estate to develop a fun and frilly line of fashions for tots including the wildly popular "ruffle butt" diaper covers. How popular are they?
"We just got back from the Boom Boom Room, which is a celebrity suite at the Golden Globes, and where the celebrities that came by and visited us raved about ruffle butts," said Schaub, "it was an experience I can't even describe."
"Ruffle Butt" customers include actors Jason Priestly and Denise Richardson, Carnie Wilson and Scott Baio
Schaub says the easy to care for decorative diaper covers make mommies very happy.
"Just put them in the wash and they come out great," said Elena Gibson who just loves them. "They're 100-percent cotton and they're made to be very easy."
"Ruffle Butts" are available at boutiques across the country and on the
company's website.
