Comic Faces More Child Porn Charges
MIAMI BEACH (CBS4) ―
A Spanish-language comedian who has appeared on Univision's variety show Sabado Gigante has been arrested for possession of child pornography after Miami Beach police found the images on one of his hard drives.
Police arrested 45-year-old Adonis Losada on Sept. 18th. He's known as the grandmotherly character of Doña Concha on the popular Spanish-language variety show. On Friday, he appeared in court facing disturbing charges 30 counts of distributing child pornography from his computer.
Prosecutors requested a high bond now set to $3 million after he bonded out of a Miami jail on $90,000 bail and fled to Georgia, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. He's now in a Palm Beach County Jail because he was caught by Boynton Beach Police Officers as they worked an online pornography investigation.
Losada used a social networking website to transmit an image of child pornography and that's how authorities nabbed him, according to Miami Beach police. Authorities say the images were extremely disturbing portraying images of children as young as 2 in sexual poses.
Assistant State Attorney Greg Schiller described the images as "graphic."
"They're not good to see," Schiller told the newspaper. He added that Losada may face additional charges from California law enforcement agencies.
Police then received a warrant to search Losada's Miami Beach apartment and found 18 images of child pornography in one of his hard drives. They have since found more images.
When his Miami Beach was searched, Losada told officers he had a problem.
Univision, the Spanish-language network, has said they have suspended Losada until the investigation ends.
