Robbery Suspect Revealed In Cell Phone Pix

MIRAMAR (CBS4) ― A Miramar man thought he had come up with the perfect crime and the perfect victim. He never considered that a lost cell phone would be his undoing.

Last week, a 25-year-old Tamarac was sleeping was sleeping in her bedroom when she was awakened by two men standing over her with guns pointing in her face. She handed over her cash like they demanded and then watched as they ran from her home. Broward sheriff investigators say the men apparently got in through an unlocked front door.

Surveillance video in the gated neighborhood where the woman lives captured the robbers leave in a silver four-door Mercedes sedan, which they tracked to a home in Miramar.

Robbery detectives say the owner of the car, identified as 28-year-old Scano Sinclair, had recently attempted to rob the woman's boyfriend at his Palm Beach County home but was unsuccessful. When making his escape, investigators say the would-be robber dropped his cell phone. The woman recognized Sinclair's picture from his phone as the same man who robbed her.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Sinclair who will face a number of charges including armed robbery.
