Miami-Dade Closed Monday, Likely Tuesday - Broward Closed Monday
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
Monroe County schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday for all students and staff as Tropical Storm Fay could start pelting parts of the Keys and South Florida late Monday or early Tuesday as a strong tropical storm or minimal hurricane.
Monroe County Schools Superintendent Randy Acevedo notified parents and staff Sunday at 10:30 a.m. using the ConnectEd phone notification system and the Monroe County School District website.
Sunday, Miami Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez announced that public schools will be closed Monday. As for Tuesday, a decision will be made Monday afternoon. Broward officials say public schools will be closed Monday, and no decision has been made for Tuesday.
