Before taking off on his midnight run around the world, Santa got out of the cold of the North Pole for an afternoon of scuba diving at the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary near Key Largo.
Santa, in the person of Jason Schwenke of the Florida Keys Dive Center, delighted other divers Monday as he toured the sanctuary's reefs and marine life using a sea scooter.
The Sanctuary is home to some 40 species of coral and more than 500 different species of fish and crustaceans.
