Suspects In Sean Taylor's Murder Burned Evidence

MIAMI (CBS4) ― The man suspected of pulling the trigger in the murder of Washington Redskins' star Sean Taylor in his South Florida home reportedly told investigators after the shooting they burned their clothes in an effort to cover up the crime.

State prosecutors released statements Wednesday made by 17-year-old Eric Rivera Jr. and two other suspects. In his statement, Rivera told investigators they burned their pants, shirts and gloves after they returned to Fort Myers to destroy evidence that could connect them to Taylor's shooting on November 26th.

In another statement, 20-year old Jason Scott Mitchell told investigators he attended a birthday party at Taylor's home in September and had seen large sums of cash there. Mitchell said he thought about turning himself in after learning Taylor had died.

A judge's order has prevented the release of large portions of the statements.
