Shark Bites 6-Year Old In Volusia County

It's The 11th Shark Bite Victim In Volusia County This Year

In April, There Were 3 Shark Bites In 3 Days

VOLUSIA COUNTY (CBS4) ― There's been another shark attack in Volusia County and this time it was a 6-year old boy.

Official says the child, from Deltona, was bit in the foot off the coast of New Smyrna Beach on Wednesday morning.

He was playing in less than 2-feet of water when the bite took place. He suffered several small lacerations around his ankle and was rushed to the hospital for treatement.

The bite marks the 11th of the year in Volusia County. All of the bites occurred in New Smyrna Beach.
