Drive By Shooter Targets Hammocks Police Station
SOUTHWEST MIAMI DADE (CBS4) ―
Crime scene tape went up around a portion of a Miami Dade Police Department substation after bullets shattered several of the buildings windows.
The shooting happened around 1 a.m. Wednesday at the Hammocks Police Station in the 10-thousand block of Southwest 142nd Avenue.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
Investigators found a number of bullet casings in the middle of the street in front of the station house and suspect the drive by may have been gang related. They plan to use surveillance video taken at the time of the shooting to identify the car used by the shooter.
