Watch out for debris in the roadway and another day of rough surf as relentless wind continues to blow across South Florida. Sustained east winds near 25 mph, gusting close to 40 mph, have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Wind Advisory until 3 p.m. Monday afternoon.
CBS4 WeatherBug tracks wind speeds in your neighborhood.
High pressure anchored over the Mid-Atlantic states and Tropical Storm Ida slowly passing to our west are causing the blustery conditions in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.
Monroe County residents and visitors will notice it more because there are fewer building and structures to block the wind. Drivers on the Overseas Highway in the Keys are urged to exercise caution when behind the wheel, especially when driving high profile vehicles.
The high winds have produced dangerous surf and rip currents at our beaches; beachgoers are advised to stay out of the water.
A high risk of rip currents means that dangerous and potentially life threatening conditions exist for everyone entering the surf.

Beach erosion is also a concern as coastal flooding is possible with the strong onshore flow.
On Tuesday, Ida is expected to make landfall and high pressure will start to drift east. It will be breezy Tuesday but winds are expected to remain below advisory strength. Stay tuned to Chief Meteorologist David Bernard and the CBS4 Storm Team for any developments.
