Man Run Down Near Ft. Lauderdale's Swap Shop

LAUDERHILL (CBS4) ― A deadly accident near the Swap Shop has claimed the life of a Lauderhill man.

Police say the driver of a Chevrolet Monte Carlo struck the man while he was trying to cross NW 31st about two blocks north of Sunrise Boulevard. The accident occurred just before 11 p.m. The man was rushed to Broward General Medical Center where he died, according to The Sun-Sentinel.

The impact shattered the car's windshield; the driver of the car stayed on the scene until police arrived.

Police have not released the man's name nor have they said what charges, if any, will be filed against the driver.
