S. Fla. Cab Driver Shot & Killed

MIAMI SHORES (CBS4) ― Cab drivers have one of the most dangerous jobs in the country and that fact was proven true once again Saturday when a South Florida cab driver was shot and killed.

According to Miami-Dade Police homicide investigators, 61-year old Patrick Zuniga was at a stop sign on the corner of Del Leon Drive and NW 36th Street in Miami Shores around 4:00 p.m. when a man with a gun walked up to the cab and shot him multiple times.

Zuniga managed to drive away but crashed into a bus bench.

He was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he died.

Police say they do have the suspect in custody, along with the murder weapon, but have not released his name. Investigators are still trying to determine the motive for the shooting.
