Pedestrian Killed By Tri-Rail Near Miami Gardens

Florida Highwy Patrol Said A Man Was Walking Alone On The Rails

Service Has Resumed

MIAMI GARDENS (CBS4) ― A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Tri-Rail passenger train near Miami Gardens on Tuesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. 

The P628 train, traveling north from Miami International Airport to a stop in Palm Beach County struck the person, according to train officials.They say the man was walking on the tracks, which is illegal.

Tri-Rail announced delays in the evening of an undetermined length as the investigation took place just north of the Golden Glades Station. A bus bridge has been set up to transport passengers between the Hollywood and Golden Glades stations using buses.

The identity of the person has not been released, nor the reasons of how it happened. 

Regular service resumed Tuesday night.
