Josephine Weakens to A Tropical Depression

MIAMI (CBS4) ― Josephine has weakened from a tropical storm to a tropical depression, as it moves northwest across the Atlantic Ocean.

The National Hurricane Center's 5 a.m. advisory showed the center of Josephine located about 785 miles west of the Cape Verde Islands; the storm's latitude is 16.8N, longitude 36.9W.

The depression is moving west-northwest at around 9 miles per hour. Josephine is expected to continue on this path during the next couple of days.

Josephine's maximum sustained winds are 30 mph, and forecasters expect little change in strength.
