Thieves Caught In Their Unholy Acts Of Crime

A Couple Has Been Charged With At Least 7 Burglaries In Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH (CBS4) ―

Sandra Durden, 39, and Richard Thibodeau, 32, have been charged in 7 burglaries in Broward County on Thursday, facing multiple charges of grand theft that even includes stolen property from a church, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Det. Carol Singstock, who made the arrest at the couple's apartment, allegedly found stolen items and drug paraphernalia. From her investigation she found,"They usually went after midnight. They had a van or a U-Haul truck, and they used a crowbar. With the church, they found a key hidden."

She also found the couple's 6-year-old daughter who has since been placed in the custody of Child Protective Services.

The Broward officer explained that she had visited pawn shops and stores in the Pompano Beach area and located a musical store where Durden and Thibodeau reportedly sold Unity church's equipment, which will be returned.

The Unity Church, located at 261 SE 13 Ave. in Pompano had been victimized by burglars three times in five weeks in April and May.

Ironically, Marion Wadhams, the church pastor, explained how she knew the two; she had married them.
