Disney Performer Dies After Stunt Show Accident
ORLANDO (CBS4) ―
For the third time in just over a month, an employee at Walt Disney World has died after being injured on the job.
On Monday evening, Anislav Varbanov, 30, had a serious accident while rehearsing for the "Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular" show at the Hollywood Studios theme park.
Varbanov, who was hurt while doing a tumbling roll, was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
Tuesday's performances of the stunt show have been canceled in Varbanov's memory. The show has been performed in the park since 1989.
Both the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Orange County Sheriff's Office were notified of the accident.
Last month, a 21-year-old monorail driver died when a train crashed into his own. And last week, a 47-year-old Magic Kingdom performer died days after an on-stage fall during "Captain Jack's Pirate Tutorial."
