MIAMI (CBS4) ― South Floridians bundled up before heading off to work Thursday morning as the thermometer sunk into the mid 30s and low 40s across the region.

A Freeze Warning for all areas west of I-95 in Miami-Dade, Broward and mainland Monroe expired at 9 a.m. While no records were broken overnight, it sure was cold. The National Weather Service and CBS4 Weather Bug network of reporting stations noted that Kendall and Coral Springs recorded the lowest temperatures Thursday morning – 31 degrees.

Some other chilly low temperatures this morning:

Redlands  37
Weston  37
NW Ft. Lauderdale  38

Pembroke Pines  39
Pompano Beach  40
Ft. Lauderdale  41

Clear skies on Thursday will help warm up the region with afternoon highs expected to be in the mid 60s. Thursday evening will be cool again with temperatures expected in the mid 40s to 40s. By Friday morning temperatures will be in the low 40s across most of the area but the afternoon warms back up into the low 70s.

Throughout the weekend, expect morning temperatures in the mid 50s and warm afternoons in the mid to upper 70s.
