Heavy Rain Forecast For Remainder Of The Holiday
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
Showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast for Saturday with temperatures to hover near 90-degrees.
There is a high probability of rain through Monday.
On Friday, parts of South Florida were hit by strong storms and gusty winds, and frequent lightning. According to FPL, Friday's evening storms temporarily knocked out electricity to 1,999 households in Miami, and 1,656 in Broward.
The recent rain has been good for Lake Okeechobee, which is inching closer to normal water levels. At 9.85 feet above sea level, the lake is still 4 feet below average. But it's a foot higher than last year.
