Wikipedia Founder Creates Web Site For Homeless
TAMPA, Fla. (CBS4) ―
The founder of one of the most popular websites in existence has created a new web site that helps the Tampa Bay area's homeless. Jimmy Wales, who founded Wikipedia, launched tampabayhomeless.wikia.com on Friday.
The project created an online resource for service providers, government agencies and advocates to share information using Wikipedia's model of collaboration.
Wales founded Wikipedia in St. Petersburg, but later moved the operations to the San Francisco area. Similar projects are already running in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
