Appeals Court Denies Braman's Stadium Appeal
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
Even as work has already started on the new Marlins baseball stadium, Miami car dealer Norman Braman has continued to fight the stadium's construction. But, Braman's appeal was dealt a significant blow on Wednesday.
The Third District Court of Appeals upheld a judge's ruling clearing the way for the stadium. Braman had challenged the project saying it was a misuse of tax dollars among other legal flaws he saw.
The new Marlins stadium is under construction now in Little Havana. The retractable-roof stadium was delayed for a year by Braman's lawsuit. The Marlins have shared the stadium now known as Land Shark with the Miami Dolphins since 1993.
The Marlins stadium is scheduled to open in 2012.
