Target CorporationToys "R" Us responded directly to questions
CBS4's I-Team posed in an e-mail:
CBS4 I-Team: Why these hooks are still being used?
Bob Friedland, Toys "R" Us Spokesman:
All single peg display hooks in Toys"R"Us stores feature ball-end safety tips. These rounded tips are found on the end of each peg hook.
CBS4 I-Team: Are there moves to replace these hooks with more rounded or dual prong hooks?
Bob Friedland, Toys "R" Us Spokesman:
Yes. This is currently under review. "Our merchandise team regularly reviews industry trends. Consistent with the retail industry, we are moving toward a double pronged Euro Hook (U shaped at the end) as a result of both durability and its rounded end. We already have a redesign of hooks in production." Zoraya Suarez
