Colorado Teacher Accused Of Sex Offered Plea Deal

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) ― A judge delayed the preliminary hearing Monday for a teacher from Brighton who is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.

Carrie McCandless, 29, appeared briefly in a courtroom Monday. Her lawyer asked for the hearing to be delayed so the former Brighton Charter High School teacher can consider a plea offer from prosecutors.

McCandless is charged with felony sexual assault on a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
