A Devoted Sister Helps A Wish Come True

PEMBROKE PINES (CBS4) ―

CBS4 Marybel Rodriguez went on behalf of Neighbors4Neighbors to fulfill someone's wish.

Rene Lefkowitz of Pembroke Pines battles Parkinson's Disease. Her best friend, her confidant, her roommate for 64 years is her sister, Myrna.

There was something Rene desired, which Myrna wanted to get her.

People ask for many things to make their lives better, their health more secure. For Rene, who lies in bed too weak to get up, she had a modest wish.

She was hoping for an autographed book of Pres. Clinton's "Giving".

Myrna believed it would be a priceless wish for her twin sister.  It was impossible to wait on a line when the former president came to South Florida on a book tour in September. It was too expensive to purchase it online.

Neighbors4Neighbors presented her wish with the president's signature.

Rene was nearly speechless, clutching the book, "Oh, my God. You made my life".

Dreams do come true.
