Clydey Foundation Equips MDFR With Pet Masks

Nicole Maristany
DORAL (CBS4) ― Pets in distress will have a second chance at life thanks to a generous donation from a local animal foundation.

The Clydey Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to helping pets in need, has written a check to outfit each fire truck in Miami-Dade County with lifesaving pet oxygen masks, following a Neighbors 4 Neighbors in the Community report that aired on CBS4 News on September 16th.

Pets can fall victim to disasters just like their owners and these pet oxygen masks provide lifesaving help for many animals. And the masks don't just help dogs, they help animals of all sizes from small little birds, up to a Great Dane, any size pet will be covered.

"Unfortunately before these pet oxygen masks were available to us we would have to adapt human oxygen masks for the animals which don't work as efficiently" said Lieutenant Arnold Piedrahita of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

The Clydey Foundation, presented the check at their annual fundraising dinner, "Purrfect Night For A Pawty", on Saturday Sept 26th where CBS4's Jorge Estevez was the Master of Ceremonies.

"The animals we're going to help after this, is going to be truly amazing and much needed" said Sharon Jacobson, founder of the Clydey Foundation.
