Pre B-Day Bash For Teen Who Needs Lung Transplant

CORAL SPRINGS (CBS4) ―

It was an early birthday bash and fundraisers for a girl who doesn't know how much longer she'll live.

A huge crowd gathered Saturday at the Sportsplex Drive Park to celebrate the birthday for 13-year-old Brieanna Yowell. The Coral Spring teenager was born with Cystic Fibrosis and needs a double lung transplant.

Her real birthday is in August but they celebrated early to try to raise money her surgery.

"Today is pre-bash for me to help so we can helrp raise money for my lung transplant and all the cost that will be post transplant," said Yowell.

Insurance will cover most of the surgery cost but it will not cover additional money needed after the transplant.
