A six-year-old girl died after being struck by a taxi at the terminal at Miami International Airport Friday night.

According to preliminary reports, the girl was riding on a luggage cart when she somehow slid off it and into oncoming traffic. That's when the taxi hit her. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported the girl to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Miami-Dade Police are investigating the exact cause of the accident, but at this point the driver of the taxi is not facing any charges. Her family was traveling to Miami.
