It's time for those running shoes, and Race 4 The Cure! The 13th Annual Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure was held on Saturday morning at Bayfront Park in Miami.
Freenette Williams, who was diagnosed with cancer four years ago, told CBS4 "It's a wonderful cause," adding that "it's probably the largest crowd we have had so far."
The 5K Race attracted more than 15,000 people, including nearly 700 breast cancer survivors and it hoped to raise more than $1.2-million.
People marched through downtown Miami, into the Brickell district and back again to Bayfront Park.
K.C. and the Sunshine Band was played over a loudspeaker, and some wore pink visors, caps and foam bunny ears.
Nationwide, people in cities will be doing their part too - making for the largest series of 5K runs/walks in the world!
