Poll: Fla. Gov. Crist Still Popular With Voters

68% Think Crist Is Doing A Good Job

18% Disapprove Of Crist

Gov. Charlie Crist is still overwhelmingly popular with voters despite a bad economy and an off-year for Republicans.

Sixty-eight percent of Florida voters say Crist is doing a good job and only 18 percent disapprove, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday.

A big reason may be that Crist avoids arguments over political ideology in favor of a broader message on issues that appeal across party lines.

Crist's recently reaffirmed his centrist approach to governor in a speech to other Republican governors, saying he will support President-elect Barack Obama and urging this peers to work with Democrats to solve problems.
