Farm Recalls Parsley Over Salmonella Threat

60 Cases Of Suspect Parsley Were Distributed In Florida

MOORPARK, CA (CBS4) ― A California company is recalling more than thousand of cases of parsley because it may be contaminated with salmonella.

Muranaka Farms said 60 of the suspect cases were shipped to Florida and nine other states. The voluntary recall affects 60-count fresh bunched parsley, lot code 0023909.

In addition to Florida, the recalled parsley was also distributed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.
Salmonella can cause serious infections, especially in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.

The company says no illnesses have been reported.
