Volkswagen is recalling 13,500 cars to fix problems with the dual-clutch automatic transmission that could have led to a dashboard warning light problem or the car accidentally shifting into neutral.
The recall affects 2009 model year Jetta, Jetta SportsWagen, GTI, and Eos, along with a few of the same vehicles in the 2010 model year. The cars would have been built between September 2008 and August of 2009.
The cars will have Volkswagen's DSG transmission that acts as both a stick shift and an automatic. The cars could have a faulty temperature sensor in the transmission that could cause the dashboard light to malfunction.
VW said no crashes or injuries have been reported and owners will have their cars inspected and repaired if the faulty sensor is found. VW owners can call 1-800-444-8982 for more information.
