Got A World Changing Idea? Get $10M From Google

Project 10 to the 100th Is A Contest For World Changing Ideas

Entries Accepted Until October 20th.

Top 5 Winning Ideas To Be Announced In February

MENLO PARK, Ca. (CBS4) ― Google is offering big bucks for your big ideas but they have to be ideas that can make the world a better place.

To mark its 10th anniversary this morning, Google is offering $10 million dollars for ideas that can change the world by helping as many people as possible.

The 10100 or 10 to the 100th contest will accept entries from around the world and in any language until October 20.

The proposed ideas should be submitted to the www.project10tothe100.com.  Entrants must briefly describe their idea and answer six questions.

A panel of judges composed of Google employees and advisers will narrow down the number of entries to 100 by January 27.

An online public voting until Feb. 2 will choose the top 20 ideas.

From the 20 entries, a panel of judges will choose the winning five ideas and announce these in the middle of February.

If judges chose less than five winners, the prize will be divided accordingly and awarded in May.

Winning ideas will get Google funding, while the people that submitted them will get "good karma and the satisfaction of knowing that your idea might truly help a lot of people," according to the Northern California firm.
