HOLLYWOOD, Fla (CBS4) ―
A South Florida snack food company is recalling a large number of specific items nationwide because the products have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The company is Hialeah Products Inc. of Hollywood, which sells its items under a wide variety of different names.
The decision stems from the January 29, 2009 expanded recall by Peanut Corp. Of America, for all products manufactured in their Blakely, Georgia facility since January 1, 2007. The company, now under FBI investigation, makes only about 1 percent of U.S. peanut products. But its ingredients are used by dozens of other food companies.
No illnesses have been reported so far. Only products that were produced with peanuts that came from the Peanut Corp. Of America facility are being recalled.
The snacks are packed in clear plastic bags or plastic tubs with an applied label. Products may be a single item (peanuts) or a blend of dried fruits, nuts and peanuts, the FDA said.
The products are sold under the names of:

Ohio health officials have linked a woman's death to the nationwide salmonella outbreak linked to tainted peanut products.
The death of the woman from Medina County, south of Cleveland, raises the number of U.S. deaths linked to the salmonella outbreak to nine.
The outbreak has sickened 600 people and has led to one of the largest recalls in history with more than 1,800 product pulled.
