    Construction on the Orange Bowl began in 1936 and it was completed in 1937 at a cost of $340,000. It was originally named Burdine Stadium after Roddy Burdine, one of Miami's pioneers. The original stadium consisted of the two sideline lower decks and had a capacity of 23,330.

The Orange Bowl was originally built in 1937 and was called Burdine Stadium until 1959 when it was renamed for the Orange Bowl Classic College Football game. After nearly seven decades, the future of the OB is uncertain now that that University of Miami has decided to begin playing at Dolphin Stadium in 2008.

Steve Fossett's Plane Wreckage Found

The wrecked plane of adventurer Steve Fossett, reported missing in September 2007, was discovered in the Sierra Nevada mountains, 90 miles south of the ranch where Fossett had taken off.
