Michael Hernandez, barely an adult, was sentenced to life in prison
without parole Friday for the brutal murder of his friend and
classmate, Jamie Gough, while both were middle-school students.
Hernandez idolized serial killers and was on a mission to kill
classmates. His parents claimed he was insane, but a jury disagreed. Hernandez chose not to take the opportunity to apologize to the parents of his victim, who had their single question, "Why?", left unanswered.
