Power Outage Strikes South Florida

A massive power outage hit South Florida on Tuesday afternoon. Florida Power and Light continues to investigate the problem to determine the exact cause of the outage. Over 600,000 people were affected by the outage.

Florida's largest electric company, FPL, shut down a nuclear reactor south of Miami for mechanical reasons Tuesday, causing sporadic power outages covering large portions of the state that could last well into the night.
