April 23 - Daily Soaps Update

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Here are the daily soap opera summaries for "The Young and the Restless," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "As The World Turns," and "Guiding Light."

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

Jeff and Jill continue to flirt, but when Jeff learns that Gloria isn't with Alistair, Jill suggests for him to go after her. Later, Jill tries, to no avail, to get Jeff to talk about the real reason he married Gloria. Jana reaches out to Gloria, who is very lonely.  Kevin assures Gloria that they won't let Jeff send her to prison and becomes concerned when Gloria admits that she doesn't care anymore.  Jack and Gloria try to be civil to one another, which only backfires on them.  Gloria, trying to better her karma, wishes Jack well and walks away.  Later, Michael informs Jack that he is dropping the lawsuit but wonders if John would truly be proud of the man Jack has become. Jeff goes to the coffeehouse looking for Gloria, but finds Jana and Kevin instead.  Jeff informs Kevin that he will give Gloria the contaminated face cream in exchange for a divorce and a substantial settlement. Jana tries to convince a broken-hearted Jeff that Gloria is in love with him. Gloria tries to convince Michael that she is trying to change but he has heard it too many times and doesn't care to listen to an encore.  Meanwhile, Jeff overhears Gloria speaking to her lawyer about adopting a child. Sharon can see that something is bothering Jack.  Jack talks to Sharon about John and wonders if he is being truly fair to Gloria.  Lily explains to Cane she can't marry him.  Later, Lily worries that she is letting everyone at Jabot down. Chloe insists that Lily can continue to work as long as possible but Lily is unsure.  Seeing how torn Lily is, Chloe reaches out to her.  Chloe admits to Lily that she envies what she has with Cane. Cane and Lily get excited about the prospect of the ultrasound and seeing the baby for the first time.  Cane, however, starts to feel excluded when Lily decides to have dinner with Neil instead of him.  Later, Cane confides in Jill that Lily turned down his proposal and wonders if they will be able to raise this child together.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL 

Nick confronts Katie about the conversation he overheard about Storm being the one who had shot Stephanie.  Katie explains to Nick that this is a family secret and asks that he please not inform anyone.  Alone in her house, Ashley remembers Ridge's warning about Storm.  Ashley is startled when Storm makes his presence known and begins to confess to her about being a flawed man.  Brooke informs a surprised Ridge of Taylor's engagement to Rick.  Ridge thinks the engagement is a ploy and that Taylor's relationship with Rick will not go any further now that she has gotten custody of Jack.  Rick asks Taylor to please answer his proposal with a yes.  Taylor reminds Rick that she can't answer him yet. Taylor has to talk it over with her children, especially Phoebe. 

AS THE WORLD TURNS 

Mike thinks Katie still has feelings for him and thinks he can stop Katie and Brad's wedding. Katie plans to ask Vienna to be her maid of honor, but learns she has the chicken pox. Desperate, Katie asks Henry to reconsider being Brad's best man so he can be her male maid of honor. Jack tells Katie he'll be Brad's best man, but only if Brad agrees.  Meanwhile Brad asks Mike to be his best man. Mike can't believe Brad is asking him to be his best man, but agrees. Katie realizes that three of her ex-husbands will be in the wedding party.

Carly is furious when Jack shows up to fix the security system at Metro. Carly is having trouble dealing with Jack's rejection. A distraught Carly comes looking for Lily and breaks down and Holden's not sure how to comfort her. Carly is surprised that Holden understands what it feels like to be rejected.

Holden is upset that Lily didn't tell him she was going to the cemetery to visit Dusty's grave. Lucinda can't understand why Holden is jealous of Dusty now that Dusty's dead. Lucinda advises Lily to work on her problems with Holden before it's too late. Lily returns from the cemetery looking for Holden.

GUIDING LIGHT

Dinah gives Hans $100 to call Mallet and tell him there's a disturbance. Mallet asks Dinah not to prank him anymore and Dinah rushes after him. Mallet tells Dinah he loves her, but things are too complicated when they are together. He kisses her, and then forces himself to walk away.

Frank announces that his suspension has been lifted-but Doris is keeping Mallet on as permanent chief. Harley learns from Frank that Mallet has been named the permanent chief. Marina tries to talk Frank into coming back to the SPD as a detective, and Frank accepts Mallet's offer.

Just as Harley seems to be getting back in the swing of a normal day-to-day life she gets a call from a telemarketer for Gus and begins to crumble again. Cassie and Cyrus run into each other both dismissing their sleeping together as a mistake. Cassie tells Cyrus Josh knows what happened, but not that it was with Cyrus-and Harley never needs to know. Cyrus calls Marina to set up a lunch date and warns Marina not to come between him and Harley. Cassie admits to a stranger that it might be a relief if Josh left her. Cassie calls Josh apologetically, asking him to come back home.

Rafe tells Daisy he needs to be home with his mom, and Daisy needs to be home with Harley.  Brendan comes to Daisy for his ID and doesn't pay her. Daisy goes to Marina with her heartache knowing she'll understand. Cyrus offers to help Daisy make it a better business venture-but she'll owe him.
