GUIDING LIGHT

Lizzie explains to Jeffrey that getting Alan behind bars will help her get Sarah back because Jonathan won't allow Alan to be near Sarah. Jeffrey doubts that Lizzie will be strong enough to go up against her grandfather but she assures him that she knows it's finally time to do the right thing.

Beth informs a non-supportive Alan that she is going to Chicago to attend law school full-time. As she packs to leave for the weekend, he insists that he does not need Lillian's help with Peyton. Beth gives Alan specific instructions for taking care of Peyton. Later, Beth calls Lillian and asks her to keep an eye on Peyton and Alan.

Dinah sneaks into Bill's office looking for budgets but is interrupted by Bill who calls a company meeting because he thinks Alan is working with people inside the company to make his move. Dinah thinks fast to try and cover for herself but she is surprised when Bill makes it clear that he doesn't know who is helping Alan. As Bill starts to seem suspicious of Dinah she covers by telling him that she will investigate the matter. She takes the file she was after and tells Bill that it is the file that holds the employee's phone records and Bill warns her not to mess this up. Dinah calls Alan to inform him that Bill is onto her. Bill sneaks up behind her while she is on the phone and they make plans for lunch while Alan is still listening in.

Lizzie runs into Beth and learns that Beth left Peyton with Alan but Lizzie is in charge of taking care of the family while she's gone and Lizzie notices the irony in the situation. Lizzie reminds Beth how important it is to look out for herself in case things don't work out with Alan. Beth tells Lizzie that everything with Alan is great and wonders about Lizzie's weird behavior.

Alan calls Lillian and asks her to watch Peyton while he goes to lunch. Bill and Dinah have an argument during their lunch at Towers and when Bill storms off he sees Alan. Alan and Bill exchange words about the company and Bill tells him that he is a better boss than Alan will ever be. As Bill exits, he runs into Jeffrey and sees that he was just talking to Alan. Alan follows Bill out and they continue their argument. Just as Alan is about to fight back, he drops to the ground convulsing. Dinah and Jeffrey sit in Towers and discuss Reva and Jeffrey's wedding plans, or lack thereof, and Jeffrey tells Dinah he is going to reopen Tammy's case and try the same man twice.

Bill is outside debating if he should call 911. He helps Alan to a nearby bench where Alan is mumbling 'Gus'. Suddenly, Alan's convulsions stop and he sits with a euphoric look on his face. Alan finally comes out of his confused state and explains that he had a vision of Gus, who told him to fight for his legacy. Bill offers to take him to the hospital but Alan refuses, warning Bill that he is the one that will need a doctor soon. Bill sees Lizzie and tries to tell her what happened with Alan but she refuses to listen. She tells Bill that she does not want to get involved with their argument. Finally, Lizzie gives in and listens to what Bill has to say about Alan and he tells her he thinks there may be something seriously wrong with Alan's health. Beth returns home and is pleasantly surprised to see that nothing terrible happened while she was gone. Alan tells Beth about seeing Gus. As Alan and Beth embrace, he ignores two phone calls from Dinah, who is calling to warn him that he is in danger of being arrested again. Outside Alan's house, Jeffrey sits in his car with a determined look in his eye.
