August 18 - Daily Soaps Update

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Here are the daily soap opera summaries for "The Young and the Restless," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "As The World Turns," and "Guiding Light."

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

Michael reels in disbelief from meeting his father in an ashram in Malibu, while Gloria tries to back pedal quickly. River officiates over a very untraditional ceremony, as Kevin and Jana profess their love and devotion to one another. River names them husband and wife. As the reception begins, Jana and Kevin are lost in one another. Amber and Colleen have a confrontation, while Gloria confronts River.

Jana hopes that Michael will be able to find common ground with River, while Gloria wishes they would all leave and forget about him. Nearby, River explains to Michael that they are strangers and whatever Michael is looking for from him, he won't get it. Daniel gives his best man speech and makes a few subtle digs at Amber. Later, Amber walks in just in time to see Daniel and Colleen about to have sex. Meanwhile, River meets Lauren and confesses to Michael that although he was never around, he did think of him and sees that Michael is a good man.

Devon demands to know what is going on with Ana that Tyra is trying to hide. Neil admits to Devon that Ana is his sister, not his cousin. Tyra begs Devon to keep the truth from Ana but before he can give her an answer, Ana arrives. Meanwhile, at the coffeehouse, Lily is blindsided when she sees Chloe wearing her engagement ring. Later, Jill meets with Chloe and divulges exactly what she thinks of her and her scheme. Jill reaches out a sympathetic hand to Lily, who she can see is hurting. Jill stops by Cane's to inform him and Chloe that she is throwing them an engagement party in order to avoid questions and scandal for Jabot. At Indigo, Lily learns that Ana is Devon's sister. Lily uses her own past experience to convince Devon to keep the truth from Ana, at least until she's older.


THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

Marcus confides in Brooke about his suspicions of Owen trying to take advantage of Donna. After putting the pieces together, Marcus constructs a theory of what may have caused Eric's heart attack. Marcus believes Owen could have poisoned him. While Steffy has a heart-to-heart talk with Taylor, an embarrassing moment occurs when Rick abruptly enters the room. Owen comforts a vulnerable Donna as she begins to fall for his kind words and irresistible charm.


AS THE WORLD TURNS

Lily brings Mike a picnic in the field, but having just received bad news regarding the development, Mike tells her not to push it. Lily is hurt and runs off. Holden sees and follows but Lily rebuffs him. Later Mike apologizes to Lily and they make a date for dinner. Lily, feeling better, apologizes to Holden and says she'd like to find a way for them to be civil to each other. Holden agrees, says it will be easier since it's just the two of them now that he's not seeing Carly anymore and he assumes she's not seeing Mike. But later, Mike approaches to take her to dinner and Lily tells Holden she plans to see a lot of Mike.

Paul finds out that the situation at the farm is worse than they anticipated and that it will require a lot more money to fix. Meg says he can't afford it but Paul insists he will find a way. Paul goes to Henry and asks Henry to introduce him to someone who can help with his money problems. Henry advises against it, but Paul insists. Derek, a well-dressed businessman comes and gives Paul money, warning him of dire consequences if he doesn't pay it back in the allotted time. Meg sees the thug but Paul lies and says he's on the construction crew. Meg tells Paul he's her hero.

Alison sees signs of an infection in Aaron's wounds and calls the hospital. Chris answers and insists on coming over. Aaron's not happy about it, but Chris treats him with an antibiotic shot and then tells Alison she needs to give Aaron a shot every four hours. Later, Aaron warns Alison that Chris can't change. Alison goes to work at the hospital and thanks Chris for his help with Aaron. When Chris asks, tells him she has no problem with them working in the same place. Chris tells Bob he won't overstep his boundaries and he's going to pursue Alison the right way this time while Alison tells Aaron that everything's going to be fine with Chris.

Lucinda introduces Luke and Noah to Brian Wheatley, who they hire to manage Luke's foundation. Luke senses that Brian is interested in Lucinda and tells her so. Later, Luke and Noah see Brian and Lucinda dancing at Metro and they all go to Lakeview to toast their new alliance.


GUIDING LIGHT

Buzz and Frank are surprised to see Daisy walk into Company and ask for a job. Frank reprimands her for compromising her values for a killer. She becomes aware of how disappointed the family is in her. Frank tells her she cannot work there. Grady shows up at Company and Buzz and Frank tell him to leave. Daisy realizes that she needs to be with her family right now and wants him to leave.

Blake and Mel visit Cassie with ice cream and flowers to try and cheer her up. Cassie finds the divorce papers in Mel's bag. Later, Daisy and Cassie come face-to-face. Daisy tells an emotional Cassie that she is sorry. Cassie is outraged and she blows up at Daisy's remiss. Cyrus intervenes the argument and tells Daisy to go home. Cassie runs off and Cyrus follows her and she breaks down in tears over Tammy and Daisy. Cyrus comforts her and takes her home. Later, Grady comforts Daisy and they discuss their future together.

Dinah and Alex meet with Alan. Dinah gives them the heads up that Jeffrey has new information for a case that could convict Alan. Bill explains to Lizzie that he feels Alan has a serious medical problem and he convinces her to take him in for tests. Later, Lizzie begs Alan to go the hospital for tests and he agrees only so she will realize that there is nothing wrong with him. Lizzie has a guilty feeling when Alan expresses his appreciation for her caring so much. When Alan goes into the exam room, Bill shows up and vows to wait with Lizzie. Alan refuses treatment when he finds out his doctor is Rick and sees Bill and Lizzie together when he walks out of the exam room. He gets dressed and accuses Lizzie of bringing him there to be declared incompetent so he can't get the company back. Lizzie is upset and Bill consoles her. She tells Bill about the deal she made with Jeffrey to get Sarah back.
