October 13 - Daily Soaps Update

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Here are the daily soap opera summaries for "The Young and the Restless," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "As The World Turns," and "Guiding Light."

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

A GCPD Detective informs Michael and Lauren that River escaped from the hospital. Meanwhile, Eden and an injured River hide from the police. Jeff informs Gloria that he is leaving her, for good. The detective gives Michael a letter found at the hospital from River unopened. River is going underground again. River insists to Eden that it is best that she stay here with Michael and Lauren. Moments later, as Gloria is trying to stop Jeff from leaving, she gets a call from River. River asks Gloria to come get Eden because she is the only person he can trust with his daughter. Gloria arrives at the warehouse to persuade River to turn himself. However, River rushes them out before the police arrive. As Gloria and Eden arrive back at Michael and Lauren's apartment, Lauren gets the call that the police found River. Michael arrives at the warehouse to try and coax River out without any violence. A party is thrown at the Chancellor Estate to welcome Billy home. Kay picks up on the rivalry between Cane and
Billy and realizes it may be less than friendly. Billy promises Kay that he will behave himself. Jill uses Cane to rub it in Jack's face that Jabot is no longer his company. Later, Jill becomes concerned when she witnesses one of Kay's senior moments. Nick stops by to say goodnight to Noah and Sharon announces that she is taking the job at Newman. Nick, Victoria and Nikki catch Adam breaking into the ranch. When they aren't convinced by Adam's cover story as to why he is at the ranch, Nick decides to call the police. Heather arrives with a police officer at the ranch. Nikki, Nick and Victoria continue to play their game with Heather and decide not to press charges against Adam. As Adam is leaving, Nick sees some of Victor's papers slipping out of his pocket and takes them. Adam asks Heather if she kept the letter that Victor wrote him after his death. Later, Adam meets with Frank and gives him the letter.


AS THE WORLD TURNS

Lucinda arrives at Holden and Lily's angry, wondering if they sent Margo after her for her part in Dusty's death. Meanwhile, Margo and Dallas look over Lucinda's bank statements and jet log and make a connection to Dusty. Dallas arrives at Lily's with a warrant and Lucinda is arrested. Lily slips out to track down Dusty and ask for his help. At the police station, Margo questions Lucinda and trips her up by revealing she knows how Lucinda got Dusty out of the country the night of his supposed murder. Holden arrives and makes a plea to Margo to let Lucinda go but Margo insists all she wants it Dusty. Just then Dusty arrives, ready to talk. Dusty reveals all to Margo, insisting he did it all for Johnny but insists Lucinda did nothing illegal. Margo surprises Dusty by letting them both go, saying she just wanted the whole story. Later, in Old Town, Dusty tells Lucinda that Lily came to him on her behalf, and she's thrilled to hear her daughter still loves her, but warns Dusty to keep his distance from Lily. Meanwhile, Holden realizes Lily went to Dusty, and isn't happy. Dusty shows up to tell Lily they are now even. Lily thinks this makes everything right with her and Holden, but Holden tells Lily it was Dusty's decision and it should've been hers.

Luke and Noah learn the gay film festival drew criticism for OU, and the college may cut the funding. As the are about to head to the student council meeting to discuss, Dusty arrives. Luke is snarky to Dusty, and is stunned when Noah wants to stay and talk to him. Luke leaves upset and goes to Al's where he learns more about the film festival situation from Reg and is told a student council election will determine the festival's fate. Luke learns Kevin is running for the deciding seat. Kevin and Luke share an awkward reunion, which is interrupted by Noah. Reg and Noah accidentally goad Luke into running against Kevin for the student council seat. Luke and Noah later make amends over Noah's friendship with Dusty. Later, Brian confronts Luke about posting foundation fliers at the film festival, and warns Luke not to get political, or he will quit. Lucinda learns of this and tells Brian he can't quit - she and Luke need him.


THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

When her backpedaling doesn't work, Taylor is forced to confess to Brooke about the residual feelings she has for Ridge. Brooke has some harsh words of advice for Taylor in return. Steffy brings up a sensitive topic with Ridge. Stephanie is secretly pleased about Eric's failed marriage, but is hurt to see him in such pain and still longing for Donna. Having no one else to turn to, Donna asks Owen for help and to go along with her charade. At Brooke's request, Ridge confronts Taylor about her feelings for him.


GUIDING LIGHT

Reva and Jeffrey discuss the baby and Jeffrey tells her she needs to stay off her feet. Jeffrey has to leave for work, and Reva finds herself bored at home. She goes out to the bar, orders a club soda, and tells the bartender all about her glory days. The bartender steps away and when Towers' phone rings, Reva answers and turns down a Spaulding reservation. She's laughing and having a good time when Jeffrey calls her cell phone. Reva lies about what she's doing and, suddenly, Jeffrey shows up next to her. He explains that they don't have to change the way they are because of the baby. Reva breaks down and Jeffrey comforts her. He tries to suggest ways to spend more time at home with her, but she tells him he doesn't have to do that; she needs to find a life of her own.

Cyrus comes over to Cassie's and she presents him with cookies as a thank you for helping with the Ambassador. Cyrus tells Cassie he had fun at the party. When Cassie escorts Cyrus outside to his car, RJ informs them that Harris dropped by and told RJ that Cassie and Cyrus were dating. Cassie and Cyrus are caught off guard, but vehemently deny it. Cassie reprimands Harris for approaching her son. Harris makes a snide remark and just as Cassie is about to slap him, Cyrus appears and stops her. Cyrus and Cassie consider sabotaging Harris, but decide it's a bad idea. Later, Cyrus calls Grady and tells him he's got a few ideas for a big score. Cassie tells RJ that he is the most important man in her life and that Cyrus is just a friend. Later, Cassie locks her keys in her car and Cyrus helps her pick the lock to get in.

Mallet and Marina are disappointed to find out that they need more money for the house. They brainstorm ways to raise money, but, secretly, Mallet decides to go on a job interview for a part-time security position. The Administrator reviews his resume and says he will contact him after he interviews one last candidate. As Mallet leaves the office, he finds Marina dressed for an interview and they are equally surprised as they realize what's going on. They are both confident about the position, but Mallet tells Marina if she is offered the job, she should turn it down because he is making less money than she is. She refuses, but it turns out they both get the job. The administrator gives them the tour of the hospital they will be covering. When they reach the pediatric ward, they notice a large entertainment system. Mallet realizes it looks like the one that was recently reported stolen. The administrator tells them the system was
donated by Cassie. As Mallet and Marina discuss their confusion with the stereo, they notice Cassie with Cyrus, breaking into a car.

At the hospital, Rick tells Olivia and Natalia that all of Olivia's symptoms
point to the fact that her body is rejecting her heart. Rick tells her the
procedure she must follow to get her health back, starting with checking into the hospital for treatment. Later, Olivia approaches Natalia, who is upset about the news. Olivia calls Natalia selfish and accuses her of only caring about Gus' heart. When Natalia can finally get a word in, she tells Olivia off and Olivia storms away. After she's gone, Buzz approaches Natalia with her order: a bag of Olivia's favorite food. Somber Natalia questions Buzz about life and he tells her to hope for the best. Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Rick tells Olivia her stay could be very short or very long, but either way Olivia just wants to get things started. She leaves to ask Buzz for a ride since she's late to pick up Emma. To her surprise, Buzz shows her to Natalia, who is playing with Emma. Olivia realizes she may have been wrong about the things she said earlier.
