October 16 - Daily Soaps Update

  Here are the daily soap opera summaries for "The Young and the Restless," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "As The World Turns," and "Guiding Light."

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

Victoria expresses her worry to Nikki about J.T. and their plan to help Victor. Meanwhile, J.T. unpacks Victor's suitcase in an unknown location. Later, Victoria pleads with Nikki to let her go with her but Nikki insists on going alone. Nikki explains to Victoria that the trail they have set for the
authorities will lead them to Rio, and "Christian Miller," Victor's birth name.
When Heather figures it all out there will be plenty of evidence that is where Victor was. Meanwhile, J.T. starts planting evidence in Rio of Victor's presence. Paul goes to see Nikki and asks about Victor. Nikki wonders if he is there because of Heather. Nikki refuses to confide in Paul for her sake, as well as his. Nikki vows to Victoria that she will protect Victor, no matter what. At the coffeehouse, Adam asks Heather if she believes Victor killed Walter and her looks says it all. Later, Heather introduces Paul to agents from the FBI and Mexican AFI. She informs Paul that they are looking for Victor and want Nikki's cooperation. Adam meets with Jack to plan what they will be writing in Victor's journal for the magazine article. Adam is impressed with what Jack comes up with. Later, Jack spins a tale of Victor's time in Mexico into a tape recorder. Nikki leaves the ranch as J.T. leaves the hotel in Rio, setting the second phase of their plan in motion. When Tyra is determined to go back to
Seattle, Neil remembers Karen saying that Tyra wanted to get away from her feelings for Neil. Later, Devon and Neil tag team Tyra and she finally agrees to at least stay the night. Karen confronts Neil about asking Tyra and Ana to move in with them without talking to her first. Devon prods Tyra for the truth as to why she doesn't want to stay in Genoa City. Tyra explains that she can't live with Neil and he invites her and Ana to live with him. Billy wonders if Colleen has seen Daniel since Loveline. Colleen is surprised to hear that Daniel and Amber weren't together. Meanwhile, Daniel and Amber are in a heavy lip lock. Later, Billy catches Amber and Daniel kissing and Daniel leaves to find Colleen. Amber informs Billy that she and Daniel are back together and there are no hard feelings between the two. Meanwhile, Daniel apologizes to Colleen but admits that he still loves Amber. Colleen is hurt.


AS THE WORLD TURNS

Jack admits to Janet that he was hiding in Carly's bedroom when Janet came to see her. Janet is upset and tells him she doesn't want to be his consolation prize. Vienna calls and asks Janet to take the day's deposits to the bank. Janet grabs the money and leaves, upset. Meanwhile, Parker sees Jack's watch in Carly's bedroom and asks if Carly and Jack are getting back together. Carly isn't comfortable talking about it, but Parker makes it clear the parents' confusion is taking a toll on the kids. Parker goes to Jack to return his watch and calls him on not being straight with Janet. At the same time, Janet shows up at Carly's and berates her for playing her, suggesting that Carly make up her mind to go after Jack or get out of Janet's way. Janet leaves, upset, and gets mugged in Old Town. Carly goes to Jack and they realize they're hurting people and need to come to a decision about their relationship. Since neither one of them is ready to take a firm stand, they take it to mean they're not together anymore and part sadly.

Brad brings Katie home from the hospital after her food poisoning and Spencer shows up with flowers. Katie makes Brad get rid of Spencer and Brad tells her she's being silly suspecting Spencer of poisoning her. Henry comes over and Brad goes to the studio. Katie tells Henry about her suspicions but he agrees with Brad. When Katie goes to the studio, Henry returns to Vienna and tells her what Katie said. Vienna insists Katie is right and goes to investigate. Henry tries to talk her out of breaking into Spencer's room, but ends up helping her. They find a locked suitcase under the bed. Meanwhile, Katie goes to the studio and is caught rummaging through the garbage by Spencer. She leaves, embarrassed, and Spencer confides in Brad that she fears Katie is angry at her for doing the show. Brad goes home and tells Katie she's taking things too far. Spencer goes back to her room as Henry and Vienna are trying to break into the suitcase. When she comes in, she finds them making love on her bed and they pretend they're in the wrong room. Spencer goes to Katie and Brad and is very upset to think they'd send their friends to spy on her. Katie and Brad reassure her and Katie relents, agreeing with Brad that Spencer is innocent and Katie was imagining things because she was sick. Meanwhile, Vienna insists they have to find out what's in the suitcase because Katie's life might depend on it.


THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

Stephanie and Taylor agree to make a concerted effort to rebuild the friendship they once had. Afterwards, Taylor sidesteps Stephanie's interrogation about her intentions. A heated confrontation between Brooke and Ridge exposes valid questions concerning their relationship. This results in each turning to their respective exes for advice. Rick has an interesting encounter while waiting for Taylor to arrive for a meeting with a wedding planner. Stephanie attempts to further her plan to reunite Ridge and Taylor by trying to reason with Rick.


GUIDING LIGHT

Marina looks forward to giving Cyrus and Cassie the polygraph test. Mallet
suggests that Cassie might be in it with Cyrus. Marina thinks it's good if
Cassie learns the truth about Cyrus before it's too late. Mallet thinks it
sounds personal, but Marina says it's strictly business. Meanwhile, Cyrus gives Cassie tips on how to pass their test. He's worried she is going to blow it, so, he offers to confess to keep her safe. Cassie refuses and admits she's having fun with it. They go to the station to take the test. Cassie goes first. She finishes and excitedly tells Cyrus she passed. The police tech informs Cyrus that the detective on the case will be administering his test; the detective is Marina. Marina starts asking Cyrus easy questions and then goes in for the kill.

The needles start moving erratically as Marina asks him a roll of questions
about his relationships with women. Cyrus and Marina come out of the room. Cyrus tells Marina she can't believe anything he says so a polygraph machine is a waste. Marina warns Cassie about Cyrus, but Cassie tells her it's not a police matter.

Dinah wants Grady to text her the location and time of the drop, and then he'll get his money. She has to get back to Bill and make herself even more indispensable to him. Grady warns her not to cross him or he'll tell Bill everything. She tells him not to worry, kisses him and leaves. Back at the Spaulding mansion, Vanessa suggests they put Bill on the news, but Alan is worried publicity will get Lizzie killed. Billy wants to call the cops, FBI, or CIA. Everyone has a different idea. The family argues and Beth and Alan accuse Bill of not wanting to part with the money. Alan also suggests that it's convenient for Bill to not have Lizzie around, but Dinah comes to his defense and tells them that Bill just wants to share his life with the woman he loves. Bill thanks Dinah for understanding. Bill thinks they should call the cops, but Dinah stops him. Bill then asks her if she could ask Mallet for help. Dinah goes to Harley's house and asks Mallet if he'd be interested in extra cash by working as a part time guard for WSPR. Marina isn't thrilled with the idea but relents and leaves. Bill tells Alan it is most important for him to rest so that he does not have a relapse. He locks him in his room, leaving Alan pounding at the door. Beth tries to reason with Alan, and he realizes that she won't budge. He tells
her he'll rest, but has other plans in mind. Vanessa consoles Beth, and later, when Beth goes to check on Alan, his room is empty. He suddenly appears standing on his feet and more determined than ever. Meanwhile, Lizzie desperately tries to saw at the ropes with the key. She cuts through and just as she's about to remove her blindfold, Grady bursts in. He gets to Lizzie before she takes the blindfold off, but she scratches his chest with the key. Grady overpowers her and re-ties her to the chair. Bill and Dinah get Mallet to agree to help, but he wants to go with Bill when he faces the kidnappers. Bill agrees because he is desperate to get Lizzie back. Bill shows Dinah and Mallet the cash, and Mallet places a homing device inside the duffel with the money. Dinah calls Grady and tells him Bill is bringing a cop, but Dinah will handle him because it's her ex.
She instructs Grady to text Bill the time and location of the drop. Shortly
after, Bill receives the text. He hurries off as Dinah distracts Mallet, saying
she has to talk to him. Dinah begins professing her love for Mallet, and her
stall tactic becomes real as she tells him she still believes things can go back to the way they were between them. She pulls him into a hot kiss. Bill walks through the woods with the duffel bag, and Grady steps out from behind the tree in a ski mask.
