Rapper Fat Joe and NBA star Al Harrington are in Miami this weekend to promote their new basketball shoe, the Protégé.
The Protégé footwear line is the result of a partnership between the NBA and Kmart. Kmart is marketing the new product as an affordable alternative to other basketball shoes, which usually cost more that $100. The Protégé starts at $34.99.
The NBA says the Protégé Basketball Block Party is an 18-wheel, 53-foot show truck that transforms into a 4,500-square-foot basketball activity area.
The event features free activities like shooting contests, basketball clinics, and appearances by stars from the NBA and WNBA.
The Protégé Basketball Block Party will visit several NBA cities including Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Atlanta, Detroit, and Chicago.
