Easterling Suspended From Southern Miss Football

Easterling Was A Former Star Running Back At Miami's Northwestern HS

HATTIESBURG, MS. (CBS4) ―

Antwain Easterling, a former running back at Northwestern Senior High School who was involved in a sex scandal, has been suspended indefinitely from Southern Miss football team for violation of team rules, according to its coach Larry Fedora.

No specifics were given to what the infractions were.

Fedora said in a statement released Tuesday by the university that he would make no further comment on the suspension.

It is the second punishment for Easterling, who was placed on indefinite suspension for a violation of team rules following the 29-26 loss to Memphis on Nov. 10.

While at Miami-Northwestern High School, Easterling was charged with second-degree lewd and lascivious battery on a minor after he had sex with a 14-year-old girl in a school bathroom when he was 18. He was 19 at the time of his arrest.
