One-On-One Candid Interview With WWE'S Carlito

MIAMI (CBS4) ― He may be arrogant, but he's considered to be one of the coolest superstars in the WWE: Carlito. CBS4 Reporter Jawan Strader sat down with the second-generation wrestler to chat about the WWE, his tag-team partner and brother, and his inspiration in the ring.

Carlito is known for his wild hair, his cocky attitude and for spitting pieces of apples in his opponents' faces. Puerto Rico-born Carlito is growing into one of the WWE's most popular wrestlers.

He made it clear to Strader that he loves his job in the ring. "I think it's a dream come true, I come from a small island from Puerto Rico and I never thought that I would be wrestling for the WWE and the biggest company in the world."

Wrestling is in Carlito's blood. His father, Carlos Colon, is considered the Hulk Hogan of wrestling in Puerto Rico. "To me he's a great man. He's done a lot for wrestling business, he's a legend in Puerto Rico and he traveled all over the world. And he's the one that got me into wrestling and he's the one that gives me advice." He's the only man Carlito says he's ever been inspired by.

Wrestling is a family affair, now. Carlito became a tag-team champion thanks to his younger brother, Primo. "It's cool, you know what I mean. I don't really like to tag with people but if you tag with somebody, I don't really like to but if it somebody you trust it has to be your little brother."

As for what he had to say about Vince McMahon, the man who gave him his big break? "He's done many amazing things...the guy is a wrestling genius."

"If you work hard dreams can come true," Carlito wanted to say to kids trying to be as good as him. "Don't expect to be as good as Carlito 'cause that's shooting too high. But at least aspire to be like Carlito."
