Miami Herald: Huizenga Might Sell The Dolphins

Miami Herald: Proposed Dolphin deal: Wayne would sell 49%
MIAMI (CBS4) ― Sources close to CBS4 News partner The Miami Herald are confirming that Miami Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga is one step closer to selling the team, despite Huizenga's denials that the team is not up for sale.

According to sources, Huizenga is in talks with New York developer Stephen Ross, and is considering selling 49 percent of the team initially. Ross's partner is Dell Computer CEO Michael Dell.  The possibility would exist that Huizenga might sell the rest of the team and Dolphin Stadium later down the road.

Once that deal is brokered, Miami real estate developer Jorge Perez would come into the picture.

Both Perez and Ross were reported to have been in talks with Huizenga last Friday regarding the sale of the team, even though Huizenga has denied the team is up for sale in the past. He had a "no comment" and "Merry Christmas" for CBS4's Jim Berry when asked if the Dolphins were up for sale.
