Marino Foundation Receives Big Donation

Money Donated Will Help Find A Cure For Autism

DORAL (CBS4) ―

The Dan Marino Foundation received a huge donation Tuesday afternoon from Samsung and Circuit City to help children and families affected by autism.  The electronic giants donated $400,000 to the foundation from proceeds raised through Samsung and Circuit City's "Get in the Game of Giving" promotion.

On hand for the presentation were former Miami Dolphin and Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino, former teammate O.J. McDuffie, WQAM Radio personality and former Dolphins tight end Jim Mandich, and children from the foundation.  The event took place at the West Dade Circuit City store located in Doral.

The funds donated to the Dan Marino Foundation will develop education programs to help find a cure for autism.

The Dan Marino Foundation was founded more than 14 years ago as a non-profit organization that provides integrated treatment programs, outreach services and research of chronic illnesses and developmental disabilities in children.
