Dolphins Looking To Extend Winning Streak

MIAMI (CBS4.com) ― After taking down both teams that played for the AFC Championship in 2007, the Dolphins look to extend their two game winning streak on Sunday against the Texans.

The Fins are looking to get their first ever win against the Texans who are hoping home field advantage at Reliant Stadium will help them win their first game this season.

Last Sunday, the Dolphins upended The Chargers with a solid 17-10 win. The Fins defense answered the call at the beginning of the fourth quarter with a fourth down stand against the vaunted Chargers running game.

Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown continued to operate the "Wildcat" offense with great efficiency. The direct snap formation left a second straight defensive coordinator trying to figure out what just happened.

Probably most importantly to the team, quarterback Chad Pennington continued to work with pinpoint accuracy and didn't make mistakes that might cost the team. Pennington completed 22 of 29 passes for 228 yards, putting together his second consecutive passer rating that eclipsed the 100 mark.

On the other sideline this weekend, is a Houston Texans team that was left speechless after surrendering 17 points in less than 4 minutes to the Indianapolis Colts. Starting quarterback Matt Schaub missed the Colts game after being hospitalized the night before. In his place stepped proven backup Sage Rosenfels. However, he wound up costing his team the victory with two costly fumbles that set up the tying and go-ahead touchdowns for the Colts.

For Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Schaub is expected to start for the Texans who are still looking for that first victory.

The Texans have developed a solid passing attack which should test the relatively young Miami secondary. Former Hurricane Andre Johnson is Schaub's go-to-guy and has put up eye-popping stats in his first few years in the NFL. The Dolphins will counter with a running game that's working as well as any team in the league. Both Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams have lined up in the same backfield and the coaching staff has been pleased with both their performance and the play of the extremely young offensive line.

Standing at .500, the Dolphins have already increased their win total from last year by 100 percent, but to most observers, the team is just hitting the tip of the iceberg of the potential the team can reach.
