Troy Beats Florida International, 42-33
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
A week after picking up its first win, Florida International was beat up at home against the top-ranked team in the Sun Belt Conference.
Paul McCall threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns, but the Golden Panthers' quarterback couldn't compete with Troy's balanced attack as the Trojans beat FIU, 42-33, on Saturday night.
Levi Brown had 391 yards on 28 of 37 passing, and connected with three different receivers for scores for the Trojans (4-2).
T.Y. Hilton, a freshman All-American last season for FIU, was limited to 44 yards on six catches. The sophomore was questionable coming into the game with a knee injury, but played despite not practicing much this week.
Florida International (1-5) lost more than the game. Starters Anthony Gaitor and Greg Ellingson left with injuries along with safety Kreg Brown.
