Dolphins Trade for Nose Tackle

MIAMI (CBS4.com) ― Nose tackle Jason Ferguson will be traded to the Dolphins according to the Dallas Morning News. The Dallas Cowboys and Dolphins will also exchange sixth-round picks in the 2008 draft, and Miami will also ship its sixth-round pick in 2009 to the Cowboys.

Ferguson spent almost all of 2007 on injured reserve after tearing his bicep against the New York Giants. He became expendable for the Cowboys after Jay Ratliff and Tank Johnson played well during Ferguson's injury.

Ferugson is now healthy and will be the anchor for the Dolphins switch to a 3-4 defense. He also reunites for the third time with Dolphins executive vice president of football operation, Bill Parcells. Parcells drafted Ferguson when both were with the New York Jets. Ferguson will also reunite with new Dolphins coach Tony Sparano who coached him in Dallas.
