Dolphins Acquire New Quarterback

Latest addition is one of many during first 24 hours of free agency.

MIAMI (CBS4.com) ― The Dolphins have signed free agent quarterback Josh McCown to a two-year contract worth an estimated $6.25 million, according to Adam Schefter of the NFL Network.

McCown was one of several players acquired by the Dolphins on Friday, the first day of free agency in 2008. Among those acquired include, NT Jason Ferguson, LB Reggie Torbor, DT Randy Starks, WR Ernest Wilford and G Justin Smiley

McCown should be in the mix to start for a Dolphins team that featured some of the worst QB play in the league in 2007. He started nine games in 2007 for the Raiders, completing over 58 percent of his passes while throwing for 10 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He has started more than 30 games in his NFL career.

New Dolphins head man, Bill Parcells promised a radical change in the roster, and in the first 24 hours of free agency, he has not wasted any time to fulfill that promise.
