By Solange Reyner
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
The Miami Dolphins activated Matt Roth onto the active roster on Saturday after downgrading linebacker Channing Crowder to out for Sunday's game against the New York Jets.

Roth missed the first six games of the season with a groin injury, but won't likely start at his strong-side linebacker position because Jason Taylor won that job this year.

He was the Dolphins' best rush defender last season, something Miami could use against the Jets - New York leads the league in rushing yards with 1,294.

Crowder is out with a shoulder injury, with linebacker Reggie Torbor likely filling his absence.

Miami released tight end John Nalbone to make room for Roth's spot.
