Shaquille O'Neal has served as a law enforcement officer in Arizona, Virginia, and Florida. Now that he's found a new home in Cleveland, he may get to continue his secondary career in law enforcement in Ohio.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported the county sheriff wants to make the 7' center a special deputy with the right to carry a gun and make arrests. But, O'Neal would not be a paid employee of the sheriff's department.
The Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy will consider the request to deputize Shaq. According to Ohio law, if O'Neal is approved, he'd have six months to undergo 36 hours of police training and would then have to take the Ohio police exam.
